Safari
Schools
Since 1968
We are an education establishment with a history going back over 50 years, from our inception as a provider of Nursery education in Uganda in 1968. We have proudly extended our legacy into primary education with the opening of a beautifully designed new space in 2025 — purpose-built to inspire and support young learners.

Our New Campus
(Phase 1)
Safari Schools moved to a lovely new campus in Kira Mulawa in February, 2025. Our new location offers a serene child-friendly environment designed to support both learning and play. It is a space where children thrive.
Through play-based activities, creative projects, and interactive storytelling, we blend fun with foundational skills. Our teachers foster a joyful, nurturing environment where curiosity is encouraged, friendships are built, and every child feels excited to learn and explore.
Come and experience the difference! Here, learning is more than just education—it’s an adventure!

Why Safari Schools?

Our Perspectives
At Safari Schools, our guiding motto is “Learning to Learn.” We believe this is the most important skill a child can carry into the future. In a world that is constantly changing, true success is not about memorizing facts, but about developing the curiosity, resilience, and adaptability to keep learning, no matter the challenge. Rooted in Christian teaching, we see learning as a lifelong journey of stewardship, service, and humility — qualities that shape both the mind and the heart.
This motto comes to life in how we teach every day. We encourage children to ask questions, think critically, and see mistakes as opportunities to grow. We give them the space to discover gaps, create solutions, and reflect on their learning. By nurturing creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving from the very earliest years, we prepare them not just to keep pace with the future, but to shape it.
“Learning to Learn” is more than a motto — it is our calling, to prepare children who will shape the future with both excellence and Christ-centered character.
Over the years, education in Uganda has undergone several positive changes including increased private sector participation following government privatization, liberalization and deregulation policies in the 1990’s which led to significant growth in the number of private education establishments and increased school enrollments
Challenges in the Current Education System
Overview of the Education System

Unrealistic Expectations National exam performance expectations often don't align with students' capabilities.
Intense Learning Schedules Overburdened learning programs during critical years put excessive pressure on learners.
Rote Learning Emphasis on memorization over practical experience, understanding, and first principles.
Two-Tier Education System A divide between local schools and international schools.
Timetabling Inadequacies Education programs often lack effective scheduling, leading to inefficiencies.
Unfavorable Learning Hours
Early starts, late finishes, weekend and holiday learning lead to burnout.
Constant Demands for Supplies Teachers frequently request additional learning tools, books, and resources throughout the term.
Population Growth vs. Economic Growth Rapid population growth outpacing the rate of formal job creation for graduates
Heavy School Bags Insufficient learning facilities (like libraries) force students to carry all materials daily, adding physical strain.

Declining Values
Challenges in the education system exist amidst a broader societal decline in values and morals.
Our Solutions
At Safari Schools, we confront today’s educational challenges head-on by reimagining how children learn with “Learning to Learn” as the heart of our curriculum.
We have small class sizes, carefully selected and adequately staffed teachers, and well-resourced learning environments. Each child receives the individualized attention and support they need to thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our approach ensures students are not just prepared for national exams but are equipped with critical thinking, problem-solving, and global competencies that will serve them for life.
Guided by Christian values and a global perspective, our dedicated teachers foster moral integrity, compassion, and a sense of service alongside academic excellence. We transform learning into an engaging, meaningful journey where students are inspired to question, create, and explore, rather than simply memorize.
By bridging the divide between Uganda National Examination Board and international standards, providing structured yet flexible programs, and maintaining a culture of high expectations with love and care, Safari Schools stands unrivaled in its ability to prepare children for the demands of tomorrow.
There is no doubt — a child at Safari Schools is nurtured, challenged, and empowered to become a confident, values-driven leader in a global world.
